LOW COST EMBEDDED MACHINE VISION SYSTEM - PEPSICO
The project was part of a PepsiCo sponsored Master's degree, designing a machine vision system for use in a factory setting. I was very humbled to be involved with such a large company, doing work which was quite challenging and far out of my comfort zone.

Machine vision is the application of a smart camera, lighting and software to create a system which can analyse quality outputs visually and translate this information into quantitative data.

The project was IP sensitive, however, a full mechanical, electrical and software design process was followed, called the ATS Development Process. By using feedback loops from each section of the system, a robust and accurate system was created, reducing costs by 93% (compared to previous attempts by the company) and fulfilling all other aspects of the brief.
